Castelan Brisbane Pet Boarding’s favourite dog-friendly activities and venues

Castelan Brisbane Pet Boarding’s favourite dog-friendly activities and venues

Castelan Boarding Kennels and Cattery is one of Brisbane’s longest running pet boarding facilities. Castelan staff and operators are passionate about the care of animals both on the clock and in our personal lives. When we aren’t on duty grooming, feeding, walking and playing with our sleepover guests at our pet boarding facility in Chandler, you can usually find us enjoying some quality time with our own pets.

More and more, venues around Brisbane are opening their doors to four-legged friends. We’ve compiled a quick list of our favourite Brisbane dog-friendly outings and venues for you and pooch to enjoy together, because everything’s better with your best mate by your side.

Here’s our five recommendations to a dog-friendly Brisbane:

Take your poochy pal on a date to Remy’s in Paddington

This local favourite boasts a simple, budget-friendly menu across breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. With plenty of undercover shaded space and lots of dog water bowls available, it’s the perfect place for you and your pal to relax. The corner block gets a beautiful breeze on hot days, and the inside word is that the stone pavers make for a delightfully cool place for pooch to lay his belly.

Head to New Farm Park for a picnic and finish off the afternoon by letting your dog go bananas in the off-leash Powerhouse Dog Park

New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s oldest and grandest parks. The leafy setting makes for the perfect place to set up a picnic and play some lawn games. A stone’s throw from the park is also where you’ll find the Powerhouse Dog Park. A popular spot for city-dwelling dogs, your pet will make plenty of canine friends here.

Even though our Brisbane pet boarding facility is in Chandler, Sandgate’s dog-friendly beach is so good, we’ll make the drive

At low-tide, Sandgate beach has ankle-deep puddles that are practically made to be splashed in. There’s nothing quite like watching the pure joy that your pup gets from a beach visit. Take a pitstop on the way home at Nundah’s dog-friendly upstairs bar, Fitz & Potts. This local favourite offers a range of treats for your dog, including specially made doggie ice cream from Ciao Gelato.

Take your dog to wander through Brisbane’s Inner West premium markets

The Milton Markets are the perfect way to spend Sunday morning. They boast plenty of delicious food, fresh produce and plenty of lifestyle offerings. Best of all, though, they welcome dogs. Take the morning slow and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the awesome local stalls with your furry friend by your side.

About 30 minutes from our Brisbane pet boarding facility is the dog-friendly Yatala Drive-In

What better way to spend the evening than at the Yatala Drive-In? Here, you can pull up your car to catch your favourite actors on the silver screen. No need to leave your pet at home – leashed dogs are always welcome!

With so many dog-friendly activities, it’s not what can you do with your dog in Brisbane, but what can’t you do?
